Fantino & Mondello is launched with two products: capicollo and fresh sausages.

1977
Viau opens for business. CEO Franco Reda decides to buy a factory and produce pepperoni, his star product, himself.

1984
Ivano Scattolin, an associate and friend of Franco’s, joins the company as vice president, sales.

1986-1996
Franco’s sons and daughter, Enzo, Joe and Vira join Viau and happily continue the family tradition.

1999
Viau buys the Fantino & Mondello brand. From that moment on, consumers availed with a wider range of products.

2001
The Company begins to sell products throughout Canada, and to export to the Northeastern United States.

2006
The head office is relocated, and a factory for Fantino & Mondello products is built in Laval.

2007
Sliced and prepackaged products hit the market.

2008
The large grocery chains begin to sell Fantino & Mondello products.

Quebeckers discover the various ways to prepare Fantino & Mondello products, thanks to friendly spokesperson Stefano Faita.

Pat De Marco becomes Chef Operations Officer, in charge of two factories.
