Pancetta is a deli meat that closely resembles bacon. It’s made from salted pork breast that is dried for several weeks using traditional methods. At Fantino & Mondello, our pancetta is cooked; this gives it its unique flavour and makes it easy to use. In fact, we’ve nicknamed it our “Italian bacon”. Pancetta often comes rolled and may be spicy. It is available in a variety of forms: thin sliced, thick sliced and diced.
At Fantino & Mondello, you’ll find it:
- Diced: original and black pepper flavour
- Thin sliced and made with pork raised without antibiotics
- Sliced to your preference at the deli counter: black pepper and Cayenne pepper flavours
Pancetta couldn’t be easier to prepare! Pan-fry it for a few minutes for maximum flavour or enjoy it as-is because it’s pre-cooked (or dried).
